Superintendent Lacroix

Sussex Police Photo Archive 1900

This postcard was one of a series with seasonal messages from Superintendent Lacroix, dated 1900 . In the centre is probably the first motorised fire engine seen in Brighton.

This mock Tudor residence in Ditchling Road, Brighton was the home of PC HE Mitchell. The garage-like building to the right of the house was obviously used to store fire-fighting equipment. The photo is dated 1900.
