Chief Constable of Sussex Police

Pocket books were not issued until January 1910 and you wonder how officers managed without them. Nowadays court evidence is based on the policeman’s pocket notebook.

  • It’s my daddy! It is so nice to see a photo of him in his uniform. This site is brilliant! Keep up the good work!

  • This is a photograph of me when I was PC 167. It was taken at Saltdean whilst on speed radar duties, by a professional photographer from Rottingdean. I was in the process of reporting him for speeding. Spring 1965.
