  • I was stood next to this mini van at the time of the HMI (Her Majestys Inspector of Constabulary)inspection I believe 1966 or 67. The HMI asked me why I was standing with this particular vehicle, to which I replied, ‘There is nowhere else for me to stand’ to which the Deputy Chief Constable Bob Beard said, ‘He’s got an answer for everything’ I was working in the garage workshop at the time as a cadet, but the Force didn’t want the HMI to know I was a ‘grease monkey cadet’

  • I remember the mini-van used by scene of crimes, my Dad was D.C. Donald Church and he worked as photographer at ‘A’ Divison near the Town Hall where their was a dark room. He worked on the Harvey Holford murder case amongst others

  • Clearly, the ladder was not to give this tall man access to the driving seat. He would not want to be curled up in there for long, I’ll wager. Ha ha
