Latimer Road

Sussex Police Photo Archive 1909

Four Police cottages were built in Latimer Road, Eastbourne in 1896 at a cost of £2260. This photo was taken in 1909, by which time a police station had been added. In 1925, more police houses were built in Victoria Drive at a cost of £4332.
After amalgamation with the County Force in 1889 a new police station was opened in Church Square, Rye, at a total cost of £600. It can be seen on this 1909 map, just to the south-east of St Mary’s Church
