  • I remember the the Morris 1000’s were ‘retro-fitted’ with innovative hazard flashers which were operated by pulling out a large knob on the dashboard. This also cut out the engine as the heirarchy wanted to ensure the flashers were not used when the vehicle was in motion !

  • I drove one of the very first Morris 1000 Panda Cars, which was allocated in 1968, to Hurstpierpoint Police Office. The number was OPM420F and it was two-tone blue and white. The next fleet were all white, as illustrated, when it was realised it would be easier to sell the vehicles when they became time expired.

  • From the vehicle registration number, which has a ‘G’ sufix, this would be 1969 or later.
