Many of our visitors have enquired about the artwork on display and the artist Dan Woods.
Dan is a local artist and musician who is a good friend of the museum and has spent many hours in the cells capturing the atmosphere of our subterranean world.
About the artist
Dan graduated from Brighton College of Art and Design with a 1st class BA Hons in 1979. Since then he has worked as a book illustrator, designer of CD and album sleeves and a storyboard artist for film and video.

Dan’s drawings and watercolour paintings have been exhibited in Milan and the south of France.
After providing the museum with a new logo last year Dan was inspired to document this unusual and fascinating feature of Brighton’s history with this superb collection of watercolour studies.
