“Rising stars” Spun Glass Theatre (Brighton Source) present You Left Me in the Dark; a devised piece of new writing inspired by Chekhov’s The Seagull and the music of Florence + the Machine. The audience encounters Masha and Nina, in the depths of The Old Police Cells, using a new, vibrant vocabulary to protest against their personal pain.
“Spun Glass achieves a sensitive portrayal of runaway emotion which, in different hands,
might descend into giddy stereotype; it doesn’t here…
Lexx’s gutsy rendition of ‘Cosmic Love’ is a credit to Florence and the Machine.”
Catherine Meek
